Riyad Mahrez admitted the whole squad was surprised at how authoritative their performance was.
Robert Huth opened the scoring after three minutes, before Mahrez scored a superb second on 49 and Huth headed a third on the hour mark.
Sergio Aguero converted for City in the 87th but it was a consolation. Leaders Leicester are now six points ahead of City.
