American Airlines plane Forced to Ground at Kennedy Airport after hit by lightning
An American Airlines plane hit by lightning made an emergency landing at Kennedy Airport Thursday.
The plane, which carried 55 passengers and four crew members, made a safe landing at JFK, an American Airlines official said.
Flight 4233 was headed to LaGuardia from Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina when lightning struck about 6:10 p.m., creating communications issues, officials said.
