Iain Duncan Smith quits over disability benefit cuts row

Duncan Smith – a former Tory leader – has resigned from the Conservative front bench over a row with Chancellor George Osborne over cuts to disability benefits.

The Government has rowed back from plans to make £4.5billion of cuts to disability benefits – announced in this week's budget.
IDS has attacked Number 11 in a BOMBSHELL resignation letter.Duncan Smith – a prominent Eurosceptic – complained of "pressure" from Prime Minster David Cameron and Mr Osborne for him to "salami slice" welfare payments.
He attacked the party leadership for refusing to consider spreading the cost of balancing the books to other areas.
But in the most stinging comments, the Tory big beast slammed the 2016 budget for its tax cuts to higher earners.
